- Rochester Aýs ý The Aýs are a part of the American Legion Division I Baseball. The team boasts a long and successful existence, achieving 23 District 1 championships, three State championships, and in 2003, became only the fourth team from Minnesota to win the National American League World Series in its 77-year history to become national champions. The team is made up of mostly high school and middle school kids.
- Rochester Giants ý The Giants are a semi-professional football team that was formed in 2003. Organized by Joe Ties and General Manager Rick Ties, the team runs on the support of dedicated volunteers and sponsors. Using this support, the team has not let fans down, working hard to become five-time Great Plains Football League Champions. Games are held at Soldierýs Field Park.
- Rochester Honkers ý Probably one of the most well known sports teams in Rochester are the Honkers. Every summer, twenty-six top collegiate baseball players from the Midwest, and across the country, move to Rochester to participate. The players live with host families in town in order to compete. In 2006, the Honkers played well to become Northwoods League Champions. It is clear the team takes the game seriously, but fans do not only get to watch an exciting ball game when they show up at Mayo Field. The games also include music, dancing, exciting contests, and the Honkersý mascot, Slider.
- Rochester Ice Hawks ý The Ice Hawks came to reside in Rochester in 2002 ý 2003, moving from Mankato, Minnesota. The team is a Junior B United States Hockey League team. They recruit players both locally and nationally, providing players with skills and experiences that will help them succeed and reach their full potential. The team prides itself on being committed to player development both on and off the ice. Not only are hockey skills emphasized, evidenced by a 2006-07 MJHL championship and a 50-60 game schedule, but players are strongly encouraged to participate in community service projects as well. Players are also required to have a job or be enrolled in a school. The program is dedicated to helping players reach full academic, social, and athletic potential. Throughout the past 12 years of Ice Hawks history, 150 players have moved to advanced Junior, College, and Professional ranks.
- Rochester Royals ý The Royals, Rochesterýs amateur baseball team, have called Mayo Field home since the year 1924. The team has a tradition of doing well, routinely making appearances at the Class B State Amateur baseball tournament. In 2006, the Royals played their way through the tournament to become 2006 State Champions.
